Biography:
Shawn Smolensky is a Visual Effects Producer at Industrial Light & Magic. Smolensky began his career at Industrial Light & Magic in the summer of 2012, shortly after the studio launched its Vancouver location. Starting as a Production Assistant, he has since advanced into production leadership roles across short-form content, animation, and major visual effects-driven features.
Initially pursuing acting—with training at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre in New York—Smolensky later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Victoria before ultimately returning to the entertainment industry to follow his passion for filmmaking.
